Surprise and Delight with Papers and Colors!

Love Notes

Love Notes. What better way to surprise and delight?  Why just for Valentine’s Day?  Here is a great idea…how many sets of stamps and dies do you already own with “valentine”  images or sentiments?

I own a few (LOL)  Valentine specific sets. But I also have many other sets with words like hug, smile, friend, you are amazing, happy.

During a snowy weekend I pulled out a selection of my favorites and combined them with cards that I had already created from SU! Sketches for the Love Notes DSP.  I love knowing that I can shop my shelf of inks with confidence that colors I have invested in over the years coordinate with the newest papers.

Check out the cards.  I pulled out retired papers in pinks and reds and purples that I keep precut to card bases.  I eyeballed color matches with card fronts cut from the love notes dsp.  And then I cut the sentiment and image pieces with dies to add pizazz.  banners, conversation bubbles, tags, postage stamps, tags and shapes.

The Six by Six paper pad was also perfect for creating some Valentine Treat Bags with a retired die…Here are the measurements for how to create similar treat bags without the dies. Two of the pieces of six by six DSP will create one bag with extra paper for a tag or card.

Valentines allow for personalization in a way that other holidays don’t…major holidays where folks have large groups of folks to connect with benefit from “production” mode.  Valentines encourage me to be creative and take some time…and I feel like my snail mail pieces that don’t say “valentine” can be used throughout the year.
